My name is Cristina Zepeda and I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Washington University in St. Louis. As a member of the Memory Dynamics Laboratory and a former member of the Cognitive Science Learning Laboratory, my research aims to understand the mechanisms that promote better (i.e., more accurate, efficient, and robust) retention and transfer of knowledge. Asking questions such as how can we improve student learning and how can we better prepare them for future learning are central to my research program. To answer these questions, I primarily focus on the metacognitive and motivational components of learning and their relation to each other and different instructional techniques.
